This gasket plate, shown on the right, serves as a strong example of Ramcel Engineering's high-quality progressive stamping capabilities. This complex component is used within an automatic transmission application. With our Minster press, which ran at 50 cycles per minute and met precision tolerances down to ± .001". We made several gasket plates from full-hard, 1010 cold rolled steel. The parts measured precisely 7.2" x 11.7" in length and width, with a .032" material thickness. We also pierce a series of .020 diameter holes in the progressive dies with this material thickness & hardness.
In order to ensure the gasket plates fulfilled precise customer specifications, we fully inspected 1 manufactured part every 30 minutes. Once assured that all components satisfied our customer's requirements, we then readied the parts for shipping, placing all finished units into sleeves, which were then placed on top of several pallets. As the pallets could not exceed 20" in height or 2,000 lbs., approximately 3,600 gasket plates were placed onto each pallet.
Meeting all of our client's unique product requirements, we used our advanced progressive stamping technology to build 350,000 gasket plates per year for the automotive industry, shipping the completed parts to our client's facility in the Midwest within a 6-week lead time per release. Our progressive stamping services met our client's high expectations for both quality and efficiency. |
