Sensor Program

A Commitment to Performance and Quality...

(continued from previous page)

At Ramcel we continually strive to discover sensors that will answer customers' questions they haven't thought to ask. Most sensors have been designed for use outside of the metal stamping industry. Ramcel has had to create our own applications and reinvent the purpose of almost every proximity, photoelectric and fiber optic sensor we install in the tooling we produce today.

The challenge is not only to utilize what is being made, but to effect change enough to have the producers of the sensors make product to suit our needs. They are continually reducing the sensors' size, but sometimes at the expense of range. The challenge is to find exactly the right sensor for a given tool.

Whether it is putting sensors in new tooling or retrofitting existing tooling to today's needs, opportunities and challenges are key words the sensor program has focused on from its' beginning.

Ramcel has invested in attendance at sensor seminars and trade shows of all kinds in order to broaden our scope of sensor applications. Factory automation across the plant floor is the next natural step. Future projects include vision systems, along with in die part measurement for quality purposes, and adjustment during press operation through the use of servo driven motors. Handling parts as they exit the tool is also being addressed.

Ramcel is working to produce a product that not only meets, but exceeds our customers' expectations.
